Why Alex Started the Show
Alex Ferrari opens the very first episode, Episode 000, by welcoming listeners to the Next Level Soul Podcast, a show where we ask the big questions about life. Why are we here? Is this all there is? What is my soul’s mission? He says the goal is to attempt to answer those questions and more through raw and inspiring conversations with some of the most fascinating and thought-provoking guests on the planet.
He then introduces himself for anyone who does not know him. Alex describes himself as a best-selling author, speaker, serial entrepreneur, award-winning filmmaker and podcaster. After recording almost 600 podcast episodes, he says, he kept wanting to ask the bigger, deeper questions about life.
That feeling is what pushed him to create something new. In his words, he wanted to put together a raw and inspirational platform to help people who have found themselves at a crossroads in their lives.
A Show for People at a Crossroads
Alex says the show is meant to help people find direction on where to go. He lists a few of the things he hopes it can support: how to evolve your soul, how to walk your soul’s journey in this life, how to break through fear, and how to look inward for the answers.
He also promises to share his own story along the way. Throughout the podcast, he says, he will talk about the experiences in his life that brought him to this moment and to the point where he felt he needed to launch this show. It is an invitation to listen as a fellow traveler, not as someone being lectured.
The Questions Alex Has Wrestled With
Alex says he has been in the film industry for 25 years, and that many of the things the show will explore are things he has dealt with, fought with and battled with all of his life. He describes trying to figure out where to go, why he is here and what he is doing.
He asks the kind of questions many of us quietly carry. Is this really all that there is? Is it all about making a lot of money or reaching a goal in life? And after you reach that goal, what is left?
These questions sit at the center of the show. Alex does not claim to hand listeners a finished answer in this introduction. He says the guests and conversations will help explore them over time.
A Taste of His Story and the Lesson of Ego
To give listeners a small taste of where he is coming from, Alex mentions a book he wrote called Shooting for the Mob. He says it tells the story of how he almost made a $20 million movie for a mobster, and of the chapter of his life that followed.
He uses that story to talk about ego. In his telling, the man at the center of it was a perfect example of what ego can do to a human being, and he says it also affected his own ego, and that the experience destroyed him before he came back from it. He adds that they will go into the story in much more detail in other episodes.
The point for listeners is simple. Alex presents ego as something that can quietly steer a life, and he says it is one of the most powerful obstacles we will face. Later in the episode he promises that guests will help listeners understand how to get through the ego and tame it.
His Mission
Alex says he truly wants to help as many human beings on this planet as he can. He calls it his soul’s mission to help you find your path, to help your soul evolve, and to help you get closer to God, to the universe, or whatever name you want to put on it.
He says he hopes the show will be a vehicle to help him fulfill that mission on this earth. He also places his other work in that frame. Yes, he says, he is a filmmaker and a writer and does other things as well, but all of that is part of a grander mission to help people around the planet. That, he says, is why this podcast came to be.
What to Expect: Soul, Mind and Body
Through the show, Alex says, he will be interviewing some of the most interesting and thought-provoking guests on the planet, and he will be asking the big questions: why are we here, is this all there is, and what is my soul’s purpose here?
He wants the show to be a beacon of light in your life. He says he wants you to be able to come back any time you want to gain inspiration, gain knowledge, or spark something inside of you that will take you to the next level, the next level of evolution, not only for yourself but, more importantly, for your soul.
The show also covers two other major parts of our being: the mind and the body. Alex says his guests will help listeners better build the body, better focus the mind, and understand how to deal with the ego. Together the soul, the mind and the body make up the whole path he hopes to explore.
When and Where to Listen
This is a weekly show, airing every Saturday, wherever you listen to your podcasts. If you are enjoying the content, Alex asks you to subscribe on the platform where you listen and to leave a good review, which he says really helps the show.
He adds that he has been podcasting for nearly six years and has dabbled in this area on other shows. This time, he says, he wanted to focus an entire show on the growth of the soul, the mind and the body, with a website and a YouTube channel built around it. He closes by inviting listeners to visit Next Level Soul online, and with a reminder to trust the journey, because it is there to teach us.
