Om (Aum)

Om, also written Aum, is the sacred syllable of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain traditions, regarded as the primordial sound of creation and chanted to center the mind and connect with ultimate reality.

Why It Matters

The Mandukya Upanishad explains the sound as three parts, A, U and M, resting in a fourth state of silence, which teachers link to waking, dreaming, deep sleep and pure awareness. Chanting it is said to harmonize breath and body. At Next Level Soul, we teach Om as the simplest mantra to begin with, felt more than spoken.
