A mudra is a symbolic hand gesture or body position used in yoga, meditation, and Hindu and Buddhist practice. Each one guides energy and focuses the mind in a particular way. Common examples include the gyan mudra, where the thumb and index finger touch, and the anjali mudra, where the palms press together at the heart.
Why It Matters
Mudras are an easy way to add intention to a seated practice. They cost nothing and can be done anywhere.
