The Ascension Conference, Now on NLS TV

In spiritual teaching, the ascension of the soul is the soul’s movement toward a higher state of awareness. Many traditions describe it as awakening to who you are beyond the body and growing toward unity. Different teachers describe it in different ways.

It means growing in consciousness: releasing fear and old patterns, listening to your higher self and living from love. Many people also describe it as raising their vibration. Learn more in our guide to connecting with your higher self.

People often describe a growing sense of purpose, stronger intuition, shifting relationships and a pull toward meaning. These are personal experiences and spiritual interpretations, not medical facts, and everyone’s path looks different.

Common practices include meditation, breathwork, journaling, time in nature and service to others. The Ascension Conference includes breathwork and meditation sessions you can follow along with on NLS TV.

Many teachers use the two ideas together: ascension is the inner growth of the soul, and the fifth dimension describes the expanded state of consciousness it can lead toward. Read what 5D consciousness means for more.

Many spiritual traditions teach that the soul continues to grow across lifetimes. Others focus on awakening in this one. Explore both views in our guide to reincarnation.
